Hey guys my dad is really looking forward to buying a new Tundra soon. So I just wanted to know some question about the Tundra. First of what are the difference going to be between 2008 model year and 2009 model year. Does the TRD off road package come on 2×4 trucks, and I heard that Toyota will introduce a Rock Warrior trim on the Tundra, is this true?

A: the TRD does come it 2×4 models, it just hads a off-road capabble shocks

there are no difference between the 08 and 09 models…same trims (grade,sr5,limited) only a new trim will be added called iron man, but thats more of a limmited addition model

dont think they will add another trim because they just added the “grade” trim in 2008

if i was him i would get a new 2008 in december because dealerships try to clear there inventory to make room for the new 09 coming…there the same thing anyways

tell him to try out the 4.7 v8 or if he wants more power the5.7 380 hp v8 with the 6 speed tranny

the crewmax is nice but only comes in a 5 foot bed so its not that great if hes going to use it for work..its more of a family mover

the double cabs have the 6.5 bed and plenty of back seat room but it just weird to me

How is the towing?I’m thinking of buying a Toyota tundra but not sure if it will be able to tow my sand rail and quads

A: depends on which engine and which trim level you get. As a rule of thumb, 4.7L engine will tow over 7k
5.7L engine in Tundra Grade will tow over 8K
5.7L engine in SR5 or Limited grade will tow over 10K

A: The bed type goes by cab configuration.
Regular cab can have either 8ft box or 6.5ft box.
Double cab can have 8ft, 6.5ft, or 5.5ft box
Crew Max can only have the 5.5ft box.

I am going to buy a truck sometime in January for every day use and drive and haul 3 little kids around. I need help on which one to get. i don’t haul anything maybe a sea doo every once in a while and lumber. i drive on hwy about 80 miles round trip for 4 days a week, basically which one of these gets better gas mileage and better performance and will last about 7 years with out breaking down. i am very good on maintaining oil changes and buying tires and alignment when needed. what is your opinion out of those two trucks. 2009 Chevy will have 4.8 and the Toyota will have the 4.7 engine.
both vehicles are 2 wheel drive.

A: After having both trucks as rentals (I travel a lot for work), I say the GM is the better choice.

The GM truck handled better, rode better, was more comfortable, and seemed better quality. Not to mention the GM whooped the Toyota in fuel economy!

Straight line acceleration, the Toyota would outrun it, but your not going balls-out all the time.

Q: Can anyone help? My boyfriend’s dad’s 2008 or 2009 toyota tundra is stuck in 4wd low…?
He’s supposed to be moving into his new apartment today and his dad drove here from out of town to help him move his furniture…Does anyone know if this is a common problem with the toyota tundra? …or maybe there’s just a trick to getting it out of 4wd low? They don’t have the manual. :-/
They really can’t wait until monday. His dad live’s far away and he is supposed to have his furniture out of his old apartment by today. Is there any quick fix or trick to getting it out of 4wd low? Does anyone know if this is a common problem or if it is fairly serious?

A: i havent looked at a 09 tundra recently…..does it have a lever for 4×4 or is it push button??…..if its a lever back the vehicle up for 25-30 feet and then try…..that and try it with vehicle in park neutral and with it off…in both park/neutral

if its electronic (push button) pull the 4×4 fuse and see if it disengages that way….if not try disconnecting the battery and see wat happens…..good luck

A: Yes any model deprecates when the newer one comes out. With the price of gas they should be on sale right now.

A: I think Toyota is doomed if they don’t correct these problems that they have known about for years, but did not take the steps until know to fix. Unless you complain about it, I doubt they will act on it
voluntarily.

A: You’ve got about 18 months or so to butch up on those payments and hope you are selling a truck that is worth at least–if not more than–what you owe when moving day comes.

Otherwise, you’re screwed.

A: Well a cashier’s check guarantees that the money is in the bank, so just get a cashier’s check for the whole amount. The down payment is usually for people who will finance or lease, in this case it clearly not necessary. The other thing I would like to mention and it is just my two cents is that you may want to just use the interest earned on the money you already have to make the payment. That way you keep your existing cash and you deduct the interest.
